Laura is an E-RYT 500 International teacher and featured online yoga teacher for Yoga International, Om Stars, and more. She first came to yoga to help combat serious health problems from a decade of major stress and insomnia. Her extensive studies under primary mentor Jason Crandell, and training under Shiva Rea, taught her smart sequencing and the benefit of fluidity, both of which forged her intuitive, precise yet creative instruction style.

In recent years, after experiencing a serious hip injury, surgery and other injuries due repetitive stress and pushing too far from 15 years of dance and two decades of asana practice, Laura has become passionate about teaching teachers and practitioners safer alignment and sequencing while still keeping practices interesting and fun. She is a strong advocate of teaching and practicing in a way that will last a lifetime.

What are your goals as a teacher?
Teaching teachers and long-term practitioners ways to make the yoga practice safer in hopes they avoid injury. Teaching them ways to modify the practice if they are injured.
If you weren't a yoga teacher, what would you be?
I would be a professional 24/7 animal lover. I definitely would be focused on animal rights/protection. I want animals to experience love, honor and freedom to be animals. I definitely would work on ways to help make conditions better for shelter animals, animals raised for consumption, and overall animals rights and protection.
Tell us something most people do not know about you.
I’m addicted to Kombucha.
Besides yoga, what do you do to keep a healthy lifestyle?
It changes up depending on what’s going on with my body: walking, lifting weights, riding a bike, and sometimes swimming. At the moment, meditation is my main focus, but I hope to include the other activities in again soon.
