Tells us about yourself.
I studied Ballet for many years at the prestigious Joffrey Ballet in NYC and Long Island’s Eglevsky Ballet under the supervision of the late Andre Eglevsky. As an adult, I entered the corporate world, and after innumerable years in an office environment, I took a leap of faith and attended many teacher trainings and I am now certified in Pilates and Yoga. I am always taking classes, workshops and trainings with master teachers to offer my students the best guidance possible. I have trained extensively in anatomy. I am also certified as a Holistic Life Coach. I lead group and private classes in New York City and Long Island, New York.
What are your goals as a teacher?
To continuously inspire my students to stretch their bodies and their minds. To find that mind body connection and to carry it into their daily lives. To show kindness and compassion to themselves and others. I have found that so many people are intimidated to enter a studio or take a private class. I want to eliminate that fear and have people come together in a supportive, giving environment where they see results and are cheered on every step of the way.
Tell us about your students.
My students are the kindest, most dedicated people I have ever encountered. Their dedication to me and this beautiful practice is overwhelming. I am inspired and in awe of them every day.
How has yoga changed your life?
In so many ways!! Yoga has taught me how to quiet my mind and use the breath to connect. It has also taught me how important Seva (service) is. I am an advocate for several non-profit, no-kill animal shelters on Long Island, New York. I donate my time, food and supplies and do fundraisers. Yoga has taught me compassion and to be of service to others.
Tell us something most people don't know about you.
I am an anatomy geek! And I love fashion!
Besides yoga, what do you do to keep a healthy lifestyle?
Eat healthy and try to keep as much peace and balance in my life as possible. I’m very blessed to live on the beach. It’s a great stress reducer – even in Winter.
What do you love about Hyde?
I love everything about Hyde clothing! The colors, the fabric, the fit! The commitment to organics and the community. The clothing truly does go from the studio to the street with sophisticated elegance.
