Yoga Chakra Colors to Activate Specific Energy: Vishudha, Ajna and Sahasrara

yoga chakra colorsWhen you choose your organic yoga apparel, remember that colors have power. Each chakra is connected to one color of the rainbow. In part three of our chakra colors series, we will focus on the yoga chakra colors of the throat, third eye, and crown.

The throat chakra, or Vishuddha, is a place of stillness and calm. This chakra connects us to our own voice and helps us feel confident, independent, and calm. The color of Vishuddha is blue.

Blue is one of the three primary colors. It is a color that we associate with the divine, with healing, and with stillness. Blue is the color of the sky, which fills us with a sense of peace and tranquility.

One simple way to connect with your throat chakra is to practice outside. Poses that cause you to extend your throat and look up at the blue sky bring a deep connection to this chakra. When you can’t make it outside, wearing blue clothing, like the divine drawstring pant in denim, can help awaken this chakra.

The next chakra is the third eye, or Ajna. This chakra resides between our eyebrows, and it is the chakra of mental strength, memory, and imagination. Ajna is composed of indigo, the color of the night sky. Indigo is a color of wisdom. It is also a color of spiritual clarity. The deep blues of the night sky instill us with a spiritual openness and a sense of serenity. They allow us to imagine the connections between life and death, between earth and the heavens.

To connect with your third eye, try doing your practice in the ryder cropped pant in navy. You can also practice in a dimly lit room, or using a dark blue light bulb.

The final chakra is the crown chakra, or Sahasrara. The crown chakra is composed of violet light. It is also sometimes associated with white light, which contains the full spectrum of color.

Violet is the shortest visible wavelength. It is a color of high vibration, a color that reconciles both male and female energies. It is a color of transformation, of completion, and it is therefore also a color of purification. Connecting with the violet energy of your crown chakra can help you feel enlivened, rejuvenated, and sharp. To connect with you crown chakra, try practicing in the taylor tank in lilac, or the wren legging in plum.

However you choose to practice, we hope you find a deep connection with each of your chakras. Namaste!
